Steve hi,

Are you getting a 'timeout' error message too ?

At any rate, check to see that none of your systems are running Windows 7 -
especially the PC which might have the database on it...

If you do, try removing it from the local network and see if that helps.

Let us know,

Ethan

currently the FA/OCT heidelberg is the central deatabase, IE image server.
We are running Cat5E wired network with a 1000gb switch. Network seems
speedy enough. At any given time there are 5 systems accessing the database
but there can be as much as 10 PC's with the software open, albeit not all
are being utilized at the same time. The problem seems to be with teh
central database PC. It gives us error messages and lockouts that require a
reboot. Very tedious and time consuming on a busy day. I'm trying to get a
feel for what other groups are using successfully before I get heidelberg
involved to find our next move.

How many concurrent users do you typically have accessing the database?
What is the current speed of your network? (wireless/wired/100bT/1000bT)

Network speed is the first thing to address, then the "server" (the main
spectralis, NAS, dedicated server, etc),

What are the specific errors you are receiving?

one Heidelberg units. We currently have one FA/OCT unit that houses our
central database and one that just does OCTs. we have about 14 review
stations that all access the FA/OCT unit. We are experiencing multiple error
messages on busy days from a seemingly overloaded central database. I was
curious if anyone else is using a similar setup and what type of image
server, NAS or whatever that you use and how efficient it saves image
information.
