Application Support Specialist
Heidelberg Engineering, Inc. sells ophthalmic medical devices,
specializing in optics, lasers, and image analysis software. We are
looking for an in-house Application Support Specialist to provide
telephone and, occasional in-person support to customers on general
use of our products including device software and operation, OCT
imaging, fundus photography, angiography and visual field testing.
This position is located in our US Corporate office in Carlsbad,
California.
The ideal candidate for this role will have knowledge about company
and competitive products as well as patient and work flow norms in
various eye care clinical settings. Applicants should have a
bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years hands-on experience
working with ophthalmic products. Desired certifications include:
Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) or an Optical Coherence
Tomography Certification OCT-C.
Responsibilities include:
Provide phone and on-line support to customers on use of company products
Assist customers in diagnosing and resolving product issues
Coordinate, and as directed, present educational webinars
Assist in creating educational materials for distribution to
customers and company representatives
Coordinate educational program activities
Candidates should be self-directed, able to work with minimal
supervision, have the ability and desire to multi-task, and the
flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Candidates must also have
excellent communications skills, strong writing and presentation
skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and
proven ability to interact effectively with highly specialized
technical personnel and clinicians. Multimedia experience is a plus.
