I have been using an Optacon for about 35 years. I just finished a task
I
do each month with the Optacon: The identification and marking of my
medications. I hold each bottle in a particular orientation between my
knees and read the portion of the label which gives the name of the
medicine. My wife and I use 3-character codes to name each med we take.
We
have made labels of dymo tape and put them on the caps to the meds. That
way, we can easily put a cap on the new bottle, provided that I know the
name of the med. And, you probably guessed it- how would I know the name
of
the med - and that information comes through the Optacon. I'd have to
have
sighted help if I didn't have an Optacon.
