I've read words to hymns and other music with the Optacon. You can get 
pretty good at jumping from one line of words to another under the various 
staves. If you have the lens that magnifies (I've forgotten what it's 
called), you can also tell whether single musical notes are on lines or 
spaces, but it is very slow work. Chords are virtually impossible to 
decipher. If anyone has found work-arounds for faster single-note reading or 
a way to read chords, I'd love to know about it!
