A friend of mine's husband made a few signature guides out of old cassette tape
plastic containers. He cut out a slot for signature and taped two pieces of
plastic together so that it can open out and just use as regular signature
guide on contracts, etc, but it can be folded closed, and it slips right onto a
check in the lower right hand corner, perfect for the signature line. I carry
it with me everywhere I go.

signature opening with the line on the paper. It's tricky and I try to have
the line on the paper very slightly higher than the bottom edge of the
signature opening. Then, using one hand to keep the signature guide in
place, I pick up the pen which I tested beforehand, and sign.
