Well, in South Africa there is nothing which reads the bills.  There is
only a measuring stick to identify notes.  However, with the Optacon it
is very easy to read the bills.  The denomination is printed at the top
of the note in words and very easy to read.

Even the scanners and KNFB Mobile won't read bills which are too well
warn.
I don't remember being able to do currency with the optacon, but that
doesn't mean it can't be done. I just don't remember trying to make that
happen.
