Australian notes use two methods to make them easier to identify for both blind
and sighted people.

To help blind people, every note is a slightly different size. For example, a
$50 note is significantly larger than a $5 note.

To help sighted people, every note is a different colour. $5 is purple, $10 is
blue, $20 is red, $50 is yellow etc.

If your government is reviewing how to make notes easier to identify for both
blind and sighted people, these two ideas may be helpful.

Best Wishes,

Ted.

By coincidence, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving has today issued a
notice solicing public comment on proposed ways to make currency accessible
to people who are blind without assistance of any device.

The notice is a bit lengthy, so I won't forward it to the list. But I can
keep it around for a few days and farward a copy to anyone who requests it.
You may contact me off list at j73.huffman@xxxxxxxxxxx for a copy.

Thanks and kind regards, JH
