You mean, even less of a difference than there was last time around, and not
the slightest bit of advertising? Honestly, with the semi-truths one sees
(only) from the trade press, any wonder why people don’t get it?

The reality then, AND NOW, is that broadcasters DO NOT want you to use an
antenna. The tuner mandate did not cause people to cut the cord - in reality
more people cut the antenna to gain access to expanded HD programming choice.
At the peak only 7% of U.S. homes were still using an antenna.
Broadcasters want the second revenue stream from retransmission consent.
If we want broadcasters to invest in ATSC 3.0, it will be necessary to force
them to compete. This means getting rid of retrans consent, and getting them to
spend billions to create a new competitive infrastructure.
Not likely.
All I can say is, wow. Talk about back asswards. So the perennially clueless
can go on claiming that "there's no demand out there," as if they're saying
something profound, or even remotely intelligent.
What demand is out there Bert?
Could that demand be met via better alternatives?
I can now access virtually all of the content I want, anytime, anywhere, on any
device. The one exception is local broadcasts that I rarely if ever watch.
