John - What is the status of cable operators using or passing along PSIP info.It seems there was some discussion about this and they were not yet required to do anything with PSIP but there was a possibility of it being used. Is there?
Or are the cable operators going to just continue to do their own thing with only their own info?

Agree on all points, Frank. However, Hawaii also has a real high degree of cable penetration. I've lost -- for the moment, three PSIP generator sales in Hawaii because the customer basically decided that they would wait until the FCC fines them for not having PSIP. Ugh. Has it escaped everyone's attention that Obama's home state made the switch with only a few glitches and a few days of fielding phone calls from affected people? No matter what the date is, there will always be people who will do absolutely nothing to prepare until they are forced to do so. When they wake up the day after the switch and discover that they are going to miss American Idol or CSI or whatever, they will quickly make their way to the nearest Wal-Mart or Best Buy to solve the problem -- with or without the free government cheese (coupon).-- Frank----------------------------------------------------------------------You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings atFreeLists.org- By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.----------------------------------------------------------------------You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways:- Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org- By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
