No compensation? The question is how much they are paying for carriage. There is much history here, that a few list members are hip to, but none will talk about the Gainesville/NBC situation on the list ... Probably due to an existing contract. The new Gainesville NBC affiliate is also on Cox cable; they are not being afforded protection for NBC programming (not sure about syndicated programming). But they are reaching about 93% of homes in the Gainesvile area, which explains why they can get by with a low power broadcast signal. My guess is that they are receiving NO compensation from NBC, and may be aying NBC for their programming.
