"Switched Digital Video" (SVD) already renders delployed one-way
receivers with cablecard effectively obsolete.  So do H.264 and VC-1.

SVD trivializes al la carte implementation.

We've crossed the threshold where people can afford the bundled
packaging. Cableco's are starting to break their digital tiers into
smaller packages. But it's not enough.
