This article explains precisely why OTA broadcasters *have* to provide credible
added value, when it comes to Internet streaming. The article says:

"'It wasn't the concept that was rejected,' said an executive at one Fox
affiliate station. 'The network believes that they are the ones worth all the
money.'"

And guess what? The network is right! Just do a survey of your local TV market.

People want access to the network programming primarily. Even local news and
weather are now available from many other sources. So the networks have a good
point. Just ask the consumers. The subchannels are great, for people limited
exclusively to OTA TV viewing. But for people with access to OTT sites, those
broadcaster-dependent subchannels are much less important.

If your business was tending to horses, it would have been wise, at the turn of
last century, to see about tending to cars instead.
