? Did you expect your cheese box to automatically sense the audio capabilities of the tv set and the volume level currently set for the tv set? I realize that things should "just work", but I think that it's much easier to hook-up a video output than an audio one. I tend to doubt that adjusting a user configuration would require opening anything up, nor void any manufacturer's warranty. Then, there's the wide variation in "standard" levels among audio devices with unbal connections: even pure tuner (or CD player) makers have long had an "audio level" adjustment to deal with the situation. Some consumers do read and heed the 'No user-servicable parts inside' warning lables. Not everyone is technically inclined or willing to risk voiding the manufacturer's warranty by opening the box. Also, this comes under the heading of something that 'should just work'. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
