My cable company upgraded their drops years ago. They use quad-shield RG-6/U
cable that is rated to 1 GHz. They also started using higher quality F
connectors. I think this dates back to when the FCC started cracking down on
cable systems with leakage problems, plus they were upgrading their plant to
HFC.
