Bonjour les amis,

I'm having a similar discussion in the SD&A group on LinkedIn.
(Check my groups if you are connected with me, and see also
my message about losing this job during 2013.)

An expert is telling me there that 48 fps is shown at 96 fps per
eye, i.e. each frame is shown twice ("double flashed"). The other
frame rates are shown: 24 fps -> 72 fps per eye ("triple flashed")
and 60 fps -> 60 fps ("single flashed").

You will agree that frame repetition still causes the familiar motion
artefacts, just like in the first generation 100 Hz TVs. Dommage !
John Watkinson is doing his best to explain the folly of this all.

On top of that, the stereo cameras (real or virtual) capture the 2
images simultaneously, and the single-projector cinemas display
then time-sequentially. The latency difference in combination with
motion causes additional disparity, which interferes with the 3D.

So it is by no means a proper HFR system yet !

Greetings,
-- Jeroen
