Hello,

A friend, and a former heavy user of OpenDTV, has sent the attached
message to Bill Hogan and me, and has given permission to forward
it to the list, but anonymously. So here it is. I suppose that he
no longer wishes to be associated with our club of old gossipers...

;-)

The links contain some mighty interesting facts !

And Craig is gonna love the 5:1 aspect ratio. (50 x 10 meters !)

Greetings,
-- Jeroen

Yes, I think there's a description in one of those brochures I gave you.
It was called the Laser Dream Theatre:

http://www-1.expo2005.or.jp/en/venue/globalhouse02.html

It was super wide aspect ratio and a giant screen inside a specially built
totally-blacked-out theatre. Basically they tiled three GLVs horizontally
with small overlapping areas. Where they overlapped the video was blended
very well, but the black level they couldn't fix. So, before the show
started you could see the lighter gray areas at the two overlap points,
but once the video started it looked very good.

Also See:

The pictures in the above articles are better than mine came out.

Google on Laser Dream Theatre and you'll find all kinds of article on it.

A few months ago Dr. Shimpuku from Sony told me that this year they are
going
to show a GLV powered screen with a diagonal of 2005 inch !

Not for 2005" size...
