It's the other way around, yet ultimately similar for the consumer.
The EU is attempting to give governments the power to do a lot more than just
guaranteeing neutrality of the telecoms, even to the point of levying different
taxes for different content transmitted over the Internet, or censorship
controls, or what have you. Instead, our crooked Chairman is hell-bent to give
private local monopolies **those very same powers**. "New business models," is
his lame excuse.
With government crooks, at least, we can boot them out of office. There is some
recourse. With local monopolies, and crooks in government to boost their
interests, it becomes more of a chore.
