Following up on the Comcast unlimited data trial in South Florida...

I checked the cost of the base Comcast X-Finity broadband service in Miami.
They are offering a promotional bundle that includes 25 Mbps downstream, 10
local TV channels, and Showtime TVE access for ~$40/mo.

A bundle with HBO costs ~$50/mo.

Both appear to increase to $70/mo after one year. And you must agree to
paperless billing or add $5/mo. And there is a $3.50/mo fee for the broadcast
stations (to cover retrans consent fees).

Add the $30/mo for unlimited data, and you are close to $100/mo after the first
year, and that does not include a MVPD bundle or subscriber fees for Netflix or
other Internet TV services...

No wonder the MVPD industry is not too concerned about cord cutters...

Craig
