Aside from the fact that yes, you can run a wide variety of Unix-derivative

Yes.

And who is it that does not want THE Mac OS from running on PCs? Or, do you
think there's a PC police preventing that from happening?

Nothing is preventing that from happening - there are Mac virtual machines that
run under Windows. But there is "virtually" no demand for them.

Some of this is due to the former Virtual monopoly Microsoft had from 1995
until recent years. The availability of applications for PCs was immense, while
applications for Macs were few and far between. That situation has improved,
but the real reason that PC virtual machines are popular on Macs today is to
support the large number of people switching from PCs to Macs; there are still
legacy Windows applications that will never be ported to the Mac.

The software situation has done a 180 with the shift to mobile platforms. Now
the iOS ecosystem is where developers are investing heavily, with Android
getting Apps after the iOS versions are done; and Windows Phone Apps are few
and far between. So Microsoft had little choice but to try and make Windows
work on mobile devices to keep the legacy alive.

We'll see how that works out.

But we know what IS working - Apple is growing its Mac business as the PC
industry collapses. IBM met its commitment to produce 100 iOS Apps for vertical
enterprise markets this year, and they are deploying 1900 Macs a week. Apple's
enterprise business is growing 40% YOY.

Craig

I think you are confused, Craig.
