Well it isn't that hard to download BeOS R5 PE, and I believe you can even install it in Linux. I'm using PE right now myself. Plus, come on, we are trying to recreate BeOS, if someone wants to help us do that I would hope they would be willing to run the current version of BeOS. Also, about the only thing someone would be able to develop would be the kernel or small applications, because at this point most of the major BeOS libraries aren't available on Linux (of course who knows what is up with BlueEyedOS or Cosmoe in that regard.)
