Yes, and if something gets broken to support building on Linux then 
people will complain.  I'm just trying to do a little "peer review" to 
make sure we have thought this through and aren't just hacking it 
together to see if it works.

Flexibility is good yes, but it is not something you can just hack 
together in a few minutes.  We need to think about it and build a good 
solution.
