Glen Steinke booked all three days, Aug 12-13-14 on The Nature Conservancy
webpage and wanted everyone to know that* there are only 17 spots left for
admittance to the DM Preserve on Saturday. Openings on Friday and Sunday
are decreasing also. *
He would like to carpool (ride) with someone for the trip, is willing to
share with gas expenses, and is booked at Hotel Limpia.
If you are thinking about joining us, please take the time to reserve a
spot for one or more days as soon as possible.
Also note:
- Some of us are camping on Friday and Saturday at the Preserve.
- There will be a full moon at 8:35pm on Thursday night, Aug. 11.
- The Davis Mountains Hummingbird Celebration is not being held this year;
it is now being held every other year, and the next fest will be 17-20
August 2023.
- The nearby McDonald Observatory offers 1.5-2-hour guided tours at 2:00pm
on Fri and Sat; you must reserve in advance ($10?). There will also be Star
Parties offered on both evenings ($25). Both days still have openings.
