Given the facts that a drake Common Scoter has been found (not this year) in
(as Fred Ramsey once called it) Notoregon, to the south, that Black Scoter is
the rarest of scoters regularly found inside estuaries, and that the greatest
concentration of Black Scoters along the Oregon Coast seems to be the raft of
them which can be seen in the oceaon off 68th St north of Newport, I wonder if
anyone has ever checked that flock regularly and carefully with the possibility
of finding a Common Scoter in mind.
