If the SYSTEM does it, why isn't everyone's email treated that way? I think
it is something individuals do, since not everyone's post has that in the
From line.
I'm just curious: why?

If you're going to contribute to a listserv like OBOL, why not be open about
who you are? Why make it necessary to clutter the list with messages meant
for one person, calling for them to get back to you, because you don't want
your email out there?
Please note: I don't blame Don Albright for his post. It's the only way to
get the legitimate birding info he's seeking.
I'm not aiming to be negativfe toward any individual; I'm just wondering why
we have the SYSTEM we have. It makes reaching individuals off-like
difficult and clutters the list.
On the other hand I have had experience with off-line messages that weren't
courteous. That shouldn't happen either.
