Last year Marilyn and I attended the Winter Wings Festval at Kfalls, and
went to a talk and field trip on Tule Geese. Tule Geese do stop over at the
Refuge, but in small numbers and away from people. They are more shy than
other white-fronted geese.

in the Klamath Basin, and those were very different, noticeably darker than
what we encounter in the Klamath Basin.
Since I don't recall seeing that variation, I wonder if they bypass the
Basin, or is it that I'm occupied with work in the fall, not in the field
enough, and miss them if they do happen to pass through?

Wasn't aware many use Summer Lake as a stopover
on their way to central California, since maps I've seen
make the flyway from Alaska look much more direct.
