I've noticed a dearth of RUHU , all genders. We normally get our Fos RUHU
around the Ides of March. Even without a feeder in place a bird often appears
at the very spot a feeder hung last year. I saw my first RUHU in Parkdale, Hood
River County April 3. There were 3 males at Paul Klindt's home. I have yet to
see a RUHU here on the westside. Tim Rodenkirk commented on their tardy
appearance on the south Coast this year, coupled with a conspicuous absence in
LA. I believe the abundant rainfall in our southern deserts produced abundant
forage this year where typically it is a desert and best passed over quickly by
able bodied birds.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

hummers So far this spring we have one male Rufous Hummingbird coming to our
feeder, but no females. Anybody else notice a dearth of female hummers?Darrel
