Did an eclectic bit of coast birding this weekend. Saturday afternoon saw a
Palm Warbler with four Audubon’s feeding on rocks at south jetty Bandon. Today
saw a Harris’s Sparrow on private land in northern Curry County.
Florence on the way home was sunny and 63, not much bird activity, but Waite
Ranch east of Cushman is half flooded and had lots of geese and dux.
I was in heavy traffic east of Cougar Pass (Badger Mtn) and when I passed the
filbert orchard it looked like there was a huge swan by itself in the field
south of Hwy. 126. It was impractical for me to double back but anyone on that
route should stay alert.
