100+ swans at east side observation blind, including some trumpeters; lots of
male canvasbacks. On Rentenaar Rd., no rare sparrows at the apple tree; an
adult red-shouldered hawk across the road from it. Many meadowlarks at the end
of the road, some singing. Lots of cranes, lots of bald eagles, four flocks of
several hundred snow geese flushed by eagles, a rough-legged hawk soaring with
one group of eagles.
