There was a Pygmy Owl tooting at length in Manning (Wash Co) Thursday (3/17) at
sunset. Mountain Quail crowing last night at sunset, same general location.

An hour ago I heard and saw my first ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER of the spring,

hike in McDonald Forest, about halfway between the Saddle and the Arboretum,
Linda Campbell and I heard a persistently-calling NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL around
11 a.m.  Two HOODED MERGANSERS were in their usual haunts at Cronemiller Pond
above the Arboretum.
