Last year when we did a big day in Lake Co, CA, it took 23 minutes that
pre-dawn morning before a Barred replied to our calls.

I did some owling on Blue Ridge this summer, just east of Coos Bay. The
place was rife with BARRED OWLS. I may have had 9 detections in one night with
multiple pairs responding.


The thing to remember about Barred Owls is that they often take a very long
time to respond compared to other owl species (e.g. 9 or 10 minutes).
