Hi Phil,
Each band has 3 characters (letters, numbers and/or symbols), one read
horizontally and 2 vertically. You need to see and report all 3 characters.
Where you do that is at:
http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/BBL/
They will send you information on where the bird was banded, age, etc. if
you request it.
