I also enjoy this kind of birding. When you are fortunate enough to live
among enough space with very good habitat, it is very fun to see what you
can see over the seasons. My property list is just a bit over 100 but am
working it much more intensely last few years. Yes, I also count on the
distant sightings and vocalizations (e.g. Killdeer, California Quail).
But fortunately MY Bald Eagle (and a Golden rarely) are actual visual fly
overs.

total: 120. For perspective, cumulative list over 20 years, same place,
same rules, is 150. Amusement is where you find it ;-]
