Hi,

This morning (Oct. 5) at 9 AM Chuck Philo found a Lark Sparrow along
the north side of Yaquina Bay.

Along the street at the southwest corner of Yaquina Bay State Park
there is an observation deck, parking area, and a trail going down to
the beach. Chuck saw it from the bottom of the trail near a sign. It
was flying around and landing in tall grass that made it difficult to
find at times. It was by itself and not with Savannah Sparrows.
Chuck thinks he may have also seen it last week in the same area but
then it was with Savannah Sparrows and he wasn't able to get a clear
look to verify that it was a Lark Sparrow.

Chuck also saw the earlier Lark Sparrow by Oregon Coast Aquarium
(August 30-Sept. 8), and he thinks this one is duller and drabber than
it.
