At about 8:20 this morning, I had a Western Meadowlark at Commonwealth Lake
Park in Beaverton. When I first saw it, it was perched in the top of a
deciduous tree on the north side of the lake It then flew to the short grassy
field on the north side of the wetland to the north of the park. This field is
quite small, and the habitat in the area is very un-meadowlark-like so this
bird was quite unexpected.
