Five of us saw the Sagebrush Sparrow late this afternoon. It was in the
brush just east of the Fed-Ex parking lot on Swggert Way. Once it flew onto
the fence on the edge of the Fed-Ex lot, and another time, it stayed on the
edge of the paved path in this area. Hope it sticks around,

split of Sage Sparrow five years ago, John's detailed notes of the bird
seen in 2004 clearly indicate it was the Interior West, or Sagebrush
Sparrow, type.

related to the history of Multnomah County birding, this is the 3rd record
for Multnomah county. By an interesting coincidence, the first two records
were both on February 18, one in 1914 and the other in 2004, both in the
Portland area.
