I visited Jackson Bottom Wetlands and Fernhill Wetlands this morning. The
increasing shorebird diversity and numbers being the highlights:
The 2 SEMIPALAMTED SANDPIPER found yesterday by Stefan Schlick were still
at Jackson Bottom. A SEMIPLAMATED PLOVER at Fernhill almost blended in with
nearby young Killdeer.
Jackson Bottom:
13 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER
54 LEAST SANDPIPER
6 WESTERN SANDPIPER
2 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS
1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS
along with the local Killdeers and Spotted Sandpipers.
Fernhill Wetlands
1 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER
5 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER
17 WESTERN SANDPIPER
21 LEAST SANDPIPER
