Alan and all,
I continue to check meadows around Big Summit Prairie (Crook County) where they
reportedly formerly nested, just about annually since 1999. Less regularly,
I've checked the meadows in Grant County. I've still never seen this species in
Oregon, though I've seen Upland Sandpipers in other western states.
The Grant County Bird Club (fide Tom Winters) would likely be the best source
of recent information, as they made regular efforts to survey Bear Valley and
Logan Valley areas where this species was last seen in nesting situations in
Oregon, including some private land not accessible from public roads. But my
sense (from past communications with Tom) is that it's been quite a few years
now, since they found any.
