I'm sure Alan had this in mind with his request but for all interested, the
last eBird records from the traditional breeding area near Seneca were in
2007
See attached. He requested records since that year. The more recent
record farther north of a single bird could be interpreted by the
glass-half-full people as 1/2 of a breeding pair with the other
incubating.............................?. Hoope sprints eternal. Upland
Sandpipers do still nest widely much farther NE and upwards into Canada and
Alaska. Migrants/wanderers likely account for the sightings in Western
Oregon.
