Birders -
Happy New Year! This morning (1/1), I drove back out to Newport Ave., Imbler,
OR., to see if I could relocate and photograph a White-winged Crossbill. While
initially looking for Common Redpolls, I found a male WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL on
Nov 25, 2015. Revisiting the area yesterday (12/31), I found a female
WHITE-WINGED. During neither visit was I able to photograph these birds. They
were just too flighty. This morning, I found both the male and the female
together.
Here is the location of the embedded photo in my eBird submission, of the male
White-winged Crossbill:

The exact location the photo was taken, is north on Newport Ave., Imbler, OR.,
approx. .2 miles on the west side of the road in the Spruce Tree near 940
Newport Ave.
Not to get too greedy, but I wish these birds were about five miles south in
the Union County Christmas Bird Count circle, which it scheduled tomorrow.
Good birding,
