Sarah Swanson, Audrey Addison, and I found a fine flock of sparrows while
searching for Cattle Egrets on Boquist Road yesterday. Most notable in the
flock was a HARRIS'S SPARROW in the company of GOLDEN-CROWNED and
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS. We also had a great view of a SWAMP SPARROW among
the many SONG SPARROWS.
We encountered the flock along fencelines on both sides of the Boquist
Road, just north of the old bridge crossing a slough. We had to approach
from the north because the road was flooded south of the bridge.

By the way, we found the two CATTLE EGRETS later in the day off of Old
Latimer Road.

Happy Birding New Year,

Max Smith
Portland and Pacific City
