Hi Chris and all,

10 Solitaries!!...quite the pile, no doubt about it. As to your query:
"...has anyone seen this many in Oregon before?" ...I don't remember exact
numbers (and I believe it was on S/bound migration) Dave Helzer et al had
a huge number of Solitaries on the Columbia Slough (through Ptown) a few
years back. I seem to remember it was on the order of 20 or so? At the
time he reported them it occasioned, rightly, comments that it was
something of a phenomenon. I don't believe, given the bonafides of the
observer, that there was any question as to its validity. FWIW.

good birding,
Tom

This morning Adrian and I saw at least 10, maybe 11 Solitary Sandpipers at
Sunset Park in Corvallis. Over the past week there have regularly been five
to six, and last night there were seven.
Seem like a lot; has anyone seen this many in Oregon before?

Lots of Greater White-fronted Geese going over.
