I taked to Terry Wahl today and he mentioned that the first winter HARRIS'S
SPARROW is still hanging in their at the family ranch near Cape Blanco. He
also mentioned that the Palm Warblers were everywhere this winter, in the
double digits for sure (20+). They like to hang with the bluebird flocks
but he said he was just seeing them here and there all over the ranch.
This afternoon my wife and I and our dog took a sunny walk at Floras Lake,
Curry. We saw a bluebird flock near the blue silos on the way in with two
Palm Warblers. No sign of the Say's Phoebe that is usually around though.
At the lake we had great views of a single LAPLAND LONGSPUR in the short
grass on the north end of the lake.
Gorgeous day, a bit chilly, but very sunny!
