At Ocean Park, WA last evening at sunset, we saw a constant stream of
hundreds or thousands of birds flying south (towards Oregon) beyond the
surf, too far out to identify in the light fog. I guessed that they might
have been shearwaters, based on other years' experience about this time of
year. Gulls were also flying south, but closer inshore.
Also there were lots of pelicans and Heerman's gulls at the Hammond boat
basin - to keep this relevant to Oregon.
