Today we did our annual Big Sit atop the restrooms at Seltzer Park. We
had wonderful weather and plenty of visitors. Our final species count
was 65, including a brief, but sevicable view of a BLACK-VENTED
SHEARWATER. Other species of note included: ANCIENT MURRELET, NORTHERN
FULMAR, SOOTY SHEARWATER, RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK
and MERLIN.

Late in the morning the MERLIN made a serious pass at the rockpiper
flock on the beach putting up all the BLACK TURNSTONES and SURFBIRDS at
once. Nearly caught a turnstone.

Late in the morning Steve Jaggers came by to show us photos of the
TROPICAL KINGBIRD he had just seen at the Circle Creek Campground. We
all promptly abandoned the Big Sit Circle to twitch the kingbird
(without success).

Thanks to all who dropped by.
