Echoing Alan, that ebird report of Ringed Plover was both wicked and very
charming.
Several days ago I stopped at Pintail Marsh and there was a SAY'S PHOEBE
just east of the parking area, I am getting the feeling that there are more
Say's around the mid Willamette Valley than usual for this time of year,
having seen several in recent weeks in Polk, Linn, and now Marion
Counties. Say's is still considered rare on Ankeny NWR where Pintail Marsh
is at.
Today I stopped at Pintail, and heard a SWAMP SPARROW giving an insistent
call or alarm call near the west entrance to the parking area, it was with
2 LINCOLN'S and a few SONG SPARROWS. At the same time there was a high
number for December of LEAST SANDPIPERS, 14 that I could count, and 25-30
