As Big Al notes, "CBCs will be upon us soon, and the first weekend
on the west side looks like a wet blanket."
But things look MUCH better on the east side, especially for the
Antone CBC next Monday!
The December 16th forecast for Dayville (a few miles from where we
meet) predicts *no* precipitation, just sunshine with a few clouds,
and temperatures ranging from 30 F at sunrise to a balmy 40 F in
the afternoon. Even on Keyes Creek Summit west of the circle, the
highway is clear with just a smidgen of snow at roadside.
So why stay in western Oregon and watch the rain drip down onto
your nose from the hood of your rain gear, when you could be
enjoying Mountain Quail, Townsend's Solitaires, Goshawks, and the
occasional Common Redpoll flock, under mostly blue skies at Antone?
