There has been one often this Winter at Meadowlark Prairie too which is a
few miles east of Fern Ridge. In eBird, there are more reports this
winter (Nov-Mar) in lane county (southern Willamette Valley portion) of
Rough-legged Hawks than in several previous years combined. I looked
because there was so many sightings reported by friends. It's been a good
Winter for them down here. All this is also true for Short-eared Owls this
Winter. The concentration north of us in Linn County (of both species) is
always greater.
