Hello All,
A few highlights along the route today were EURASIAN WIGEON that was with a few
American Wigeon on the Radio Tower Pond at the west end of Alton Baker Park Day
Island Prairie this morning. A BLACK PHOEBE and calling RED-SHOULDERED HAWK
were also there.
A RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD and two RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS were
feeding from the pine tree sap wells in the Campbell House parking lot near
Skinner Butte Park. No luck relocating the recent YB Sapsucker.
Three of the Six ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS seen today were at Meadowlark Prairie,
another on Royal Ave a mile to the west and two more near the Royal Observation
Platform at Fern Ridge. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was also near the platform and two
WHITE-TAILED KITES were seen north of Royal.
Good Birding,
John Sullivan
