Mine are a bit old, but they vary from H. Douglas Pratt, et al., A Field Guide to the Birds of Hawaii and the Tropical Pacific, something like an old Peterson, with fine color plates in one section, to his site guide book, Enjoying Birds and Other Wildlife in Hawaii, to Bird Life in Hawaii, by Andrew Berger, and Hawaii’s Birds, by the Hawaii Audubon Society. This last may have a newer edition; it’s very small and illustrated with a combination of photos and paintings, but quite good. The Berger is not too useful and the illustrations are uneven. If Enjoying Birds has a more recent edition than 2002, you might try it along with Hawaii’s Birds. aloha, Pamela Johnston From: Margie Paris Sent: Sunday, June 22, 2014 3:09 PM To: OBOL [Oregon Birds Online] Subject: [obol] Recommendation for Hawaii field guide Dear OBOL friends, Anyone have good experience with a field guide to Hawaii birds?
