Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 19. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On November 14 a BLACK-HEADED GULL was photographed at Suttle Lake in
Santiam Pass. The DICKCISSEL and MOCKINGBIRD first reported on the Bayocean
Spit of Tillamook Bay November 10 continue to be seen. The wireless Road
GROUND-DOVE continues.
Good numbers of PINE SISKINS continue west of the Cascades. With snow
building in the mountains VARIED THRUSHES are now increasing in the
Lowlands. The heavy loon movement along the coast continues. SURF and
WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS are now increasing. On November 15, 200 RED PHALAROPES,
900 BROWN PELICANS, and 600 HEERMANN¹S GULLS passed Boiler Bay.
On November 14 an EMPEROR GOOSE was photographed in a goose flock in Warren.
It was seen again November 18 along with 50 GREAT EGRETS along Honeyman Road
in Scappoose Bottoms. On November 14 a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER and three
GREATER SCAUP were on Hagg Lake south of Forest Grove. Two WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS were on Vancouver Lake and one was off Hayden Island November 18. A
HEERMANN¹S GULL was at Broughton Beach November 18. On November 13 two
LONG-TAILED DUCKS were on Timothy Lake south of Mt. Hood. A large gull flock
is now being seen near Tangent. It is comprised mostly of HERRING GULLS with
a few THAYER¹S GULLS. On November 16 a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was at the
Philomath Sewage Ponds. On Plat I Reservoir east of Sutherlin November 14
were 83 WHITE PELICANS and 40 GREAT EGRETS.
On November 7 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at Klamath Falls and seven
CHESTNUT-BAKCED CHICKADEES were at Malin. A REDPOLL was at Page Springs
Campground near Frenchglen November 15.
